Transform your church from a lush rainforest to a deliciously fun food-filled experience at Crave VBS!
FROM YOUR MAIN SET:
- Vines: Don’t toss those vines! With a little paint, these can become noodles for a giant bowl of spaghetti, oversize Twizzlers, or some delicious black and red licorice.
- Yellow Folded Paper Leaves: These transform perfectly into crispy potato chips. Add some extra color to turn them into your favorite flavors like BBQ or sour cream and onion (we’re getting hungry just thinking about it).
- Green Folded Paper Leaves: Turn these into pickle chips to add some extra crunch to your decorations.
- Waterfall: Last year’s waterfall is this year’s chocolate fountain! Add rich brown paper or fabric to create a delicious centerpiece. Giant chocolate fondue, anyone?
- Tulle From the Waterfall: Twist and gather the tulle to create giant cotton candy, or turn it into scoops of ice cream sitting atop oversize cones.
- Small Rocks: A little paint can transform these into potatoes ready to be placed by huge chunks of butter.
- Large Rocks: Turn larger rocks into giant pieces of rock candy or colorful Nerds candy decorations.
- Flowers: If you still have flowers from Rainforest Falls, don’t throw them away! Pool noodles, cupcake liners, grass mats, tissue paper, and cardboard can all be reimagined as cupcakes and other sweet treats that can add that extra magic to your main set!
OTHER IDEAS:
- Paper Leaf Canopy: That giant canopy of leaves can become a supersized salad! Place it in a kiddie pool or tuck it inside a clear mattress bag to create a giant bagged salad straight from the grocery store.
- Cupcake Liner Flowers: With a few creative tweaks, these colorful flowers can become part of the landscaping outside the Food Factorium in Sticky Scripture.
- Grass Mats: These are perfect for creating landscaping and greenery around Sticky Scripture and Sweet Bible Adventures.
- Wrapped Boxes: Those wrapped stone wall backdrop boxes can be used again in Sweet Bible Adventures.
- Large Snack Containers: Save large containers and transform them into oversized peanut butter, jelly, pickle, or other condiments and curiosity containers.
- Kiddie Pools: Last year’s pools can become giant cereal bowls overflowing with oversized breakfast fun.
- Pool Noodles and Cardboard: As always, save these! You’ll find countless uses throughout Crave for building food props and station decorations.
- Tissue Paper, Garden Pots, and Ping-Pong Balls: These supplies can be transformed into cupcakes, candy, fruits, and other tasty treats.
- Sky Plastic Backdrop, Grass Backdrop, and Tissue Paper Grass Mats: These make excellent scenery pieces for Sticky Scripture.
- Artificial Trees, Artificial Foliage, Sky Plastic Backdrop, Stone Wall Plastic Background, Wooden Plastic Table Cover, Water Fabric, Galaxy Plastic Backdrop, and Painter’s Tarps: These items all find a new home in Sweet Bible Adventures.
- Large Boxes: You know the drill—keep every box! They’re perfect for building oversize food displays, market stands, and station props. It’s amazing what a regular box can be transformed into!
- Carpet Squares: Use these to cut out shapes that look like animal crackers or teddy bear crackers! You could even connect a few squares together to create a huge graham cracker. Now we have s’mores on our mind!
- Imagination Station Supplies: Save your boxes, wrapping paper, and to-go plastic containers. These materials are always useful for crafts, inventions, and hands-on fun.
The best part? Many of the supplies you already gathered for Rainforest Falls can be transformed into something entirely new for Crave. A little creativity goes a long way, and reusing decorations can save both time and budget while creating an unforgettable VBS experience!
