From Mountain Peaks to Rushing Falls!
Transform your church from an Alaskan adventure at True North VBS to a tropical jungle at Rainforest Falls VBS!
FROM YOUR MAIN SET:
- Foam Bases: What was used to support your wildflowers will now be used to support your tropical flowers and foliage.
- Canvas: With a little paint job, this will become the rock trail that will lead you through the rainforest!
- Logs: This is an easy one—no change! You’ll be able to find so many uses for these on the main set and throughout your church.
- Rocks: Keeping the gray base from this year, we’ll show you how these will transform to fit the rainforest with just a little bit of green and blue paint.
- Rope: There are a few places you can use this. These can be used as a rope ladder for the hut, a bridge, or painted green to look like vines.
- Skewers: If you used skewers for your wildflowers, keep them! You can use them as supports for your large foliage leaves.
- Fishing Line: OK, keeping what you have might be tricky, but keep any leftover line! We used this to hang the Rainforest Falls logo, as well as butterflies, from the ceiling.
- Crepe Paper: Have leftover crepe paper? This will be used to create the bright tropical flowers found all throughout the main set!
- Carpet Tubes and Buckets: These can easily be transformed into logs, palm trees, or the base of a large tree. For your buckets, simply put them on their side, connect at the seam, and cover to create a log.
- Tissue Paper Grass Mats: These are great filler for any “bare” spots, either on your main set or throughout your church.
- Waterfall: While we didn’t have it in our main set for True North, many of you did. Save this to be repurposed for next year!
OTHER IDEAS:
- Fishline Stand: The stand you created for your True North main set to hold the fish? That same structure can be transformed into a lush arbor ready to welcome kids to Sticky Scripture or Paradise Preschool.
- Crew Sign Bases: These are keepers every year! They can always be repurposed with the new Crew Signs.
- Stone Wall Boxes: Like most years, we’ll always have a need for these during Bible Adventures.
- Water Fabric: This can be used on the main set, preschool, or anywhere you have a flowing river and waterfall.
- Blue Sky Fabric: We used this to cover the walls in Paradise Preschool and Rooted Bible Adventures.
- Pool Noodles: Can you ever have too many or enough? While you could use them to create logs or palm trees, we’ll also use them in Wild Games.
- Hula Hoops: These could be used to create treetop canopy, but they will also be needed for Wild Games.
- Cups, Ball-Pit Balls, Cones, Parachute: OK, basically most of the items you gathered for Glacier Games will also be used at Wild Games!
- Boxes, Boxes, and More Boxes: You know us! These are always something you’ll want to keep. You can use them for the stone boxes in Rooted Bible Adventures or to create the large tree in Imagination Station.
- Crew Blankets: Never get rid of these! Unless they need to be replaced, of course. These will be used in all the stations for everyone to sit on in their Crews.
- Trees: Any fake trees, besides pine trees, are keepers! They make great fillers when decorating classrooms, hallways, or the foyer. We also use them in Rooted Bible Adventures.
- Plastic Totes: You know the ones you used at Wild Bible Adventures? They’ll be used at Imagination Station this year. Plus, they just make great totes for organizing supplies.
